
One of my main fascinations with the movie was getting an insider's view into the girl scouts world. I grew up in Manhattan and never got to experience much of the wilderness. I felt like kindred spirits with Shelly Long, because this is normally how I look when put in a woodsy situation:

Even during my wedding the best man's speech got a roar of laughter from the crowd at my expense when he mentioned that I went on an ice-fishing trip to Lake Placid with my husband.
This whole introduction's purpose is to give you all a mental image of me and the outdoors and then you will fully understand why it's shocking for me to say that I will be going canoeing with my husband today. Hmm I hope I come back in one piece and do not end up like this:
