Well it’s now Tuesday and two days past my birthday. No more getting out of doing things by proclaiming that it’s my birthday week. Boo hoo to that, because today is full of laundry, laundry, and more laundry along with my everyday work schedule.
I won’t even horrify you and show a picture of the current state of my laundry room. We are lucky enough to have our own enclosed laundry area in our basement, but it has never gotten any love. There is paint peeling, ugly cabinets, a not so great looking sink… The list can go on and on.
So today while I go about doing my laundry I’m going to pretend I’m in here instead:
This is only a 6’ x 10’ and the home owner was able to fill it with sewing, crafting and laundry supplies.
There is a utility sink that is skirted to hide storage below. I love the glass door knobs that are used as pegs for hanging dish rags.
I love me some toile and a pop color like that lime that just pops. I might actually iron things If I had this room.
More toile and a lovely area to arrange all your cleaning supplies. Who knew that cleaning supplies could look so chic?
Love the stackable washer/dryer to save space and they are big enough for king size loads!. The folding drying rack is also a plus. My poor husband gets to walk into his shop area and see all my undergarments just dangling. I’m also loving the counter space to fold all my laundry and the industrial size laundry hamper below that is giving a face-lift with a custom skirt.
More peg space to hang all your clothes that need to air dried.
That’s it I'm now certain that a laundry room re-do is in store for my future. I need to spruce the place up so that I’ll actually enjoy being there instead of sometimes sneaking out and having my laundry washed and folded at the Laundromat. Shh it’s our little secret.
What does your laundry space look like? Do you continue your decorating in there or does it just get forgotten like mine?

ReplyDeleteDROOL!!!! Take it from someone who has to go to the laundry mat...I'd kill for just the washer and dryer. All the fancy froo-froo is just icing on the cake!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE all those photos. It's bound to make laundry a LOT more fun!
If I had a laundry room I would make it pretty. I hate doing laundry so anything to make it nicer would be a good thing.
ReplyDeleteBut, my laundry is in the garage. Boo!
you know me, i Love a pop of toile!!!
ReplyDeleteOh-my-oh-my! i adore these photos! Especially the folding dryer rack! And I'm with agirliegirl - i love the fancy froo-froo!
ReplyDeletei'd like to thing i'd iron in a room like this too, but who am trying to fool? there is no ironing in this girl, no matter how cute the space.
ReplyDeleteum yeah. that's a fab laundry room!
ReplyDeleteOh I wish I had a laundry space like that, I dream of the day till I have my own space to hang my girlie things so everyone who enters my apartment does not have to see. Currently we have a shared laundry area, a la college dorm style. So I just wash and dry down there and my family room floor because the folding area. It sucks to say the least.
ReplyDeleteWith a laundry room like that, I would never put it off again! I love the toille...mixed with some bright green...
ReplyDeleteLOVE these images. That is one thing that I want in my "one day" house... an actual laundry room that you can work out of with a sink and counter space. Mine right now is behind two large doors in my kitchen. I can't complain because it at least it is concealed in my old house. It's just a closet... not a room!
ReplyDeleteWow... that laundry room puts my whole HOUSE to shame. :)
ReplyDeleteI was so proud of our laundry room in our NC house - it was once a porch that had been enclosed. We painted the wood floors a putty color, and went with a beachy-blue for the walls - why not make it happy, right?
ReplyDeleteIt was the first "real" laundry room I'd had, and it was nice.
The one we have done here is large, but very utilitarian - BOO!
that is such a pretty and functional room! mine will not look a thing like it - not so much a room but a closet. it would be nice to have a huge room like that though!
ReplyDeleteThese are fabulous laundry areas. I would be giddy over any one of them! My laundry area is... in our basement. So I am constantly up and down. I may consider stack units at some point, but that would result in loosing a closet in the downstairs bath. Oh the choices we must make...
ReplyDeleteYou sure know how to have some good clean fun.
ReplyDeleteMy husband says that deep down, I really love doing the laundry, I must tell him that I have a new room to love. TLC and clean laundry, what could be better -oh well heck - toss in the sewing machine too.
pve
i just love your pretend laundry room! i need to re-do mine too...some day!

Our laundry room is a beige debacle - and I thank God daily that I don't have to do my own laundry - GAG.
ReplyDeleteThis laundry room is divine!! I love the toile and pastels. Very Southern!
I love that laundry room. We recently moved partially so that we could have our own washer/dryer (we were sharing with neighbors before), so this laundry room looks particularly luxurious to me.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't that be amazing to have a laundry room like that! Love those images.
ReplyDeleteFAB lanudry/sewing/mudroom... I wanted one of these... city planners crushed my dreams when designing my home... le sigh!

Our laundry area (ours is an "area" and not a room) has been in the back of my mind as a part of the house I'd like to spruce up one of these days. Seeing pictures like this always makes me want to get on it!
