Oh boy talk about a room in a bag!
Today I’m off to see my SIL’s new apt. She moves in July 1st and has asked me to help her with the decor. Since this is her first apt it has turned into quite the family affair and I’m having to deal with a MIL that excitingly told me that the kitchen plates were peach and blue and how great it would be to paint the walls peach, and get peach and blue curtains, etc.
Ah deep breathes I tell you people. I burst out laughing told her I was going to blog about her and now everytime I pick out anything else for dear SIL I make a joke that I hope she likes it even though it won’t match the kitchen plates.
Do you have anyone in your family/friends that loves to match and finds it really hard to part with all the matchy-matchy?
Me and my MIL literally got into a discussion of a piece of art for the kitchen that contained red not matching the red coffee maker.
Deep breathes.
heeheheheheh reallhy laughting outloud right now. i can't wait to see pics!! -- please you really do have to post. huge hug
ReplyDeleteMy MIL is here right now & I have to say she's awesome with decorating because she trust me implicitly!! (I actually think she's my #1 fan haha)
oh dear; dare I say...my mother! Bed in a bag lady.
ReplyDeletelol, that picture is a little sickening, thats more like a room in a bag...Good luck !
ReplyDeletehahahah, im dying laughing- it sounds like my mother! Actually she is not that bad in that not EVERYTHING has to match, but she certainly loves matchy-matchy and it drives me up a wall.
ReplyDeleteI cant wait to see the pretty peach and blue room Camila :)
omg omg omg...this is where laura ashley went to die!!!!
ReplyDeletesadly my mom is very matchy matchy. i try to get her to stop, but she's all about bed in a bag, with the matching wall border, lamp shades and picture frames. seriously... ick.
ReplyDeleteI love not being matchy matchy. I used to think that it was a good idea, but I've gotten out of that...thank goodness.
ReplyDeleteThat room looks like a comforter barfed everywhere!
I hope you have fun decorating with your Cousin.
yikes, matching is way overrated! good luck.
ReplyDeleteYes, my mother is into matchy-match. She loves blue -- especially those kind of powder shades. Blue everything. One day she comes and asks for help in doing "something different." Not wanting to push my tastes on to her, I get a bunch of paint swatches -- blue is included -- and tell her to tell me what she likes. it was a stack, with some different options pulled out for new consideration! She picked blue. cheers -s
ReplyDeletethat is the best title ever!!!! Yes, the matchy matchy with the ruffle-ruffle is waaay too much!
ReplyDeleteI have a few older relatives that WERE that way! Not with colors, but with themes! One had a cow themed kitchen and there were cows EVERYWHERE. E.V.E.R.Y.S.I.N.G.L.E item was a cow. Cow soap dispenser, cow hot pad, cow cookie bowl, etc.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was 8 it was pretty much the coolest kitchen in the world :)
Now I can't even imagine living with that!
holy tons of floral...
ReplyDeletegoodluck!
Ooooh...tough road, this one!
ReplyDeleteI've been helping my aunt redo her guest bath, and she's been very into the hardware matching the vanity light, matching the shower curtain rod - I explained we don't have to be so strict in our coordination - but...in the end, it's her bath, so like you say - I just breathe.
Good Luck w/ your SIL's apt! :)
That is so funny! Peach and blue! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteOh I can't wait to hear how it went!!!!
ReplyDeleteI also know some people like that. It's much more personal and fun to mix it up!
