Before & After: Console Record Table

This weekend while Jon was mounting an even bigger flat screen (I swear I feel like I’m in a movie theater, but he is in heaven) up on our bedroom walls I realized that I never blogged about a before and after I had done before I even started the blog. It was a super easy project that I must share with you so I decided to take part in Metamorphosis Monday.

When we first moved into our house the previous home owners left a lot of their old furniture in the house. We hosted a huge garage sale to get rid of most of it, but one piece stayed with us.

This project was done before blogging so I don’t have a great before image. We kept an old RCA console record player that can be seen to the right of the door.

At first it actually worked, but that was only short lived. Instead of just sending it off to the curb I decided to give it a little face lift and use it in our bedroom. I needed somewhere to put our cable box etc under the TV so with the help of some of spare paint, poly gloss, spare fiberboard and spare burlap we were in business.

Here is what we have now after a couple of hours of work and practically pennies in supplies:

It got a bright dose of Kate Spade green! Then to cover where the non-working speakers were we cut MDF to size and then covered them with burlap. Those boards were then nailed into the corners and we were finished!

Here is a little sneak peak of the inspiration for the room that should be completely shortly.

I can’t wait to show you all the reveal. I know you are going to love it!

Stay tuned for my weekend recap. I wasn’t in charge of the camera this weekend so I’m patiently waiting for the pictures to be downloaded. (Thanks sissy)
