Coloring in the lines

Do you ever get the urge to return to your youth and whip out a coloring books and one of those massive crayon boxes?

Here at HHFITD that urge happens quite a bit. Enough so that we not only have a couple of standard coloring books, but a massive 2’ x 4’ one as well in our den.

So, of course I was completely jealous when I spied the work of London based artist  Charlotte Mann . She does a variety of custom work and everything is hand drawn by her with a black marker!

Here is a peek into some of her work. I’m certain that if I was ever let loose in any of those rooms I would go to town coloring it all in.

Do you think you would be able to deal with it?

I'm not sure if I could use it in a main room in my house, but perhaps a small bathroom or dressing room or if I ever own a home store I would love to use it there!

  4. I think it would look great in a store or home office. Its very cool and different. But I'm with you, the temptation to color it in would be too gret for me.

  5. How fun would that be in a dressing room?! There was a line of wallpaper once upon maybe 5 years ago that had little frames you could color in(in Domino or Real Simple, maybe??) Been wanting something like that ever since.

  8. I think they're pretty awesome - I love the one in the office and the one in the closet/dressing room with table. But I'm like you, I'd probably build the urge to color it all in. Between the lines, of course!

  9. This technique is impressive, and I'm sure painstakingly long, but I'm not sure if I'd like it in my own home. Maybe the occasional decorative picture frame molding drawn around a basic frame on the wall (somewhat like that wallpaper that was trendy a while back), or in a kids room (they'd be so happy if they could color on the walls!) I'm not sure though about my own home.

  10. oh man that is just an accident waiting to happen with me. My ADHD would take over and I would not be able to control myself, even if I didn’t have a box of crayons on me I would have the urge to whip out my trusty bic pen and get to work :)
