Come away with me...

In reality I’m sitting at my desk starting my first day back at work after a couple of days off.

I’m my own boss, but even I was dragging this morning. What it’s not a 3 day work week anymore? When I am going to pencil in all of my lifetime movie watching, or laying in bed till noon with a book, which knowing me has a hot pink book cover?

So why don’t you all join me and let’s pretend that we are not at work, but on holiday in Edinburgh, Scotland!

Why Scotland? Well Jon’s half Scottish so I’ve always wanted to go, but now I have even more of a reason to go, because I need to step foot in Hotel Missoni. My foot will probably be the only part of me staying at Hotel Missoni, because it’s a bit pricey per night, but since we’re pretending let’s check it out.

Lobby:

edin[1] {Imagine bumping into one of those massive vases? I’m quite clumsy so I’ve certain I would do major damage here!}

Bar:

{Since we’ve all just arrived from a long plane ride I think a stop at the bar is more than well-deserved. Love all the lighting and pink bar chairs!}

Restaurant:

{I can never turn down anything good to nosh on so we must make reservations at the hotel’s restaurant.}

Elevator:

Screenshot-8

{ I quick ride in the elevator and will be in our rooms in no time.}

Guest room:

{Then due to jet lag we would all go to our rooms for a little nappy-nap.}

I love the bold mix of color, pattern and texture plus I've even heard that the doorman wear chevron kilts! What a feast for the eyes.

What’s not to love?

P.S.: Dear DG who made a comment on my TJ MAXX post on Jan 2  I totally need your help. Dragged Jon to 6 TJ MAXX’s and left empty handed! Missing 3 polka dot plates in brown and white. SOS!

  2. That's the coolest hotel ever! I should have stayed there when I was in Edinburgh, instead of in a crowded hostel!

  3. Was it the pinstriped elevator - or all of the drinks under those ultra cool lights that made me so dizzy?

    VERY cool hotel pick!

  7. Oh Camila,
    I love this idea.... since we are both "working" now, can we use the trip as a discovery trip or inspiration journey or something like that????
    Oh, I can check my TJMaxx tomorrow for plates ....

  9. Thanks for such a dear sweet comment on my recent post about the new year. It's amazed me how lovely and humble the women in blogland are. Seriously, friends, even if only through the computer. :)

    As for this hotel... wow, thanks for the quick get-away daydream.

    As for those cute dishes, I saw someone offered to help you in your hunt, and TRUST ME, I know what this is like so next time I'm at a TJ Maxx/HomeGoods/Marshall's (I'm a regular at all of the above) I'll look for them for you. I would he thrilled to help someone (you) find something you're dying to have. I, just today, FINALLY found THE coffee table I've been wanting. Be sure to stop by and check it out... I'll have a warm cup of coffee ready. ;)

  12. I love a good virtual vacation and this is a great one! Dave and I are actually going to Scotland this coming summer and I would KILL to stay at the Hotel Missoni...but unless it goes on serious discount, I may just have to content myself with a drink at their bar!

  13. wow I would love to stay there--so chic and not a plaid in the bunch!

  14. so fun! I think vacations would be more fun if we always stayed at a place with super cool interiors!

  15. I've been to Edinburgh, Scotland in the winter and trust me you're better off where you are. It's awfully cold there this time of year (or at least it was when I was there). But, in the summer it would probably be lovely. Sadly, it's no longer in my budget...

  22. Great hotel...I'd love to still be on break there!!

    You asked a question about the planner yesterday. I was going to answer but then deleted your comment in my email. I love it! Though it doesn't fit in my purse, it fits in my bag I carry around my materials in for meetings, so works. Plus it was a gift from my husband, so I have to love it right? Just enough places to make notes...

    Have a wonderful new year!! Janell

  27. My friend just came back from a weekend there, and said it was a great hotel, but could have done with a few antique type pieces reupholstered in Missoni fabrics. It is all modern which is nice, but apparently lacks a bit of something something. Like a Louis IV chair covered in a beautiful knit. Great post though, love the photos.
    I always enjoy reading your blog, its lovely.
