After: 12th Street Living Room

Hi All,

It’s been a crazy morning. Internet, cable and phone are down at my house so I needed to head over to Mom and Dad’s and blog from here. Seems simple right? Ah it’s never simple. It’s taken about 45 mins for their laptop to recognize my camera and I have an appt in 30 mins!

So without further ado here are some new shots of the space I recently worked on. * We still need to add some finishing touches.

Remember this wall:

It now looks like this:

I moved some pillows around. :) We are waiting for some additional blue pillows to go in the space.

Those tables have to be one of my favorite things in the room. They were headed out to the trash, but I asked the homeowner if I could try and work my magic on them and it worked! DIY post on this later.

Remember the other side of the room:

It now looks like this:

In front of it is this amazing ottoman! Another simple DIY project. Details to follow.

That lonely chair that was floating in the before picture now has a new look and home. Don’t you love the stripes?

I love teeny details so I had to show off the button back! Both me and the home owner are in love with them!!!

Remember this blank wall?

It is still a work in progress, but we are getting there!

loneganhouse 026 We need to work on a new cut out for under the stairs and finish up with accessories, but it is already a huge difference. I love the pierced blue ginger jar.

The last wall still needs to be finished up. The fireplace arrived yesterday! So fingers crossed I’ll have more images this weekend when it is all set up.

Whew I have two minutes to get to my appt! Thank god it’s in town.

Hope you all enjoyed the space. Can’t wait to share some of the DIY projects!

  6. Oh, I am SO glad you posted this! We just purchased our first home, and the front room is just a completely dead space (intended to be a formal dining room, but is open to the front door, just like this room.) We're not formal folks, so this room just gave me an overload of inspiration to convert my dead dining room into a lovely sitting room! Thank you!

Where did you get your curtains???? They look light and flowy, yet still substantial enough to block out peeping toms :)

  19. I second (actually, ninth) the eager anticipation for DIY posts!
Curious: how often would you say you put your own DIY-ing elbow grease into your clients' rooms? And would you say as a designer, the ROI on your time is worth it? Love that you do it!
This was my first design job, and did some DIYing, too, but probably spent too much time. Couldn't help myself!
