Yesterday I discussed a change of plans with a client and how you must go with your gut. Well a couple of months ago while my professional site was being worked on I had a change of plans.
The color combo of navy, orange and citron kept popping into my head.
I always enjoyed the color combo in this room designed by Amanda Nisbet.
In searching my inspiration files I noticed a tread of bright green sprinkled all throughout like in this room by Lee Kleinhelter in Atlantic Homes & Lifestyle.
You all know I’m having a huge navy kick and look it’s paired with orange too!
Jonathan Adler designed this space with pops of green and navy zebra!
Bamboo, orange and blue equal perfection by Erinn Valencich.
I always love a classic stripe and these are navy too!
Orange & Green!
More blue and orange!
Ah classic navy and orange from Domino.
This fabric by Celerie Kemble was what started my obsession on this color combo.
Beautiful orange walls with pops of navy via House & Home.
Citron green wall in the adjacent room and more of my favorite fabric and pops of orange by Caitlin Wilson.
All of these lovely images lead to a new look for Effortless Style.
It started like this:
{ Designed by Front Porch Studio}
But last week I got a different an idea for the logo and we now have this:
{ Web design by Front Porch Studio & logo by Two Brunettes}
To me picking a favorite is like asking a mother to pick their favorite child. I just can’t do it.
So here is where you all come in to let me know which one is your favorite option 1 or 2?

looks great, babe. the color combo is fresh and inspiring. my choice is number two...it's younger looking.
ReplyDelete#1!
ReplyDelete#1--because #2 looks like too much "effort" for effortless style. #1 is much more clean, simple, and classy.
ReplyDeletenumber two works for me, it is happy, refreshing. I am using white, citrine and turquoise in my newly re done living room and I love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love them both but I think #2 looks too busy and not quite as elegant - #1 is my vote!
ReplyDelete#1! and loving the organge, green, and navy!!
ReplyDelete#1. #2 is okay but looks like you are trying to hard- just a little too much.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to go with #1 - #2 looks a little too busy for me. The site is looking gorgeous though!
ReplyDeleteMy vote is for #1 because of it's simple elegance. Either way it's looking great!
ReplyDelete#1 all the way...it looks the part of your name..."effortless". #2 is much too busy for me. But as you said, go with your gut! : )
ReplyDeletei like #1 the best! and LOVE the rest as well...the pics are perfect. With a name like 'effortless style' you don't want things to look overworked you know...you want them to be 'effortless'.
ReplyDeleteAll the best to you!
jen
I love them both, 1 is simple and classic but 2 is much more fun and memorable, but I also thinks it might be a little too busy - I'd say number 1 unless you can tone down number 2 just a little, then I'd have to pick number 2. I'm sure this is really helpful (not). sorry, I tried.
ReplyDeleteLove the look - I love #2, but am afraid it might be too much. So my vote is with #1
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #1..but possibly change it to orange or lime green?
ReplyDeleteSO excited for you! I can't wait until it goes live. Love the sneak peek! My vote is going to #1--I like its clean and classic look.
ReplyDeleteLove where you are going with this - #1 - is my favorite. I agree w/Lime's comment - #2 looks like there is too much for an effortless style.
ReplyDeleteI love the color combo! And #1.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else- #1 is simpler and easier to see- you want people to see and remember the name. #2 is beautiful but too busy.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the orange and navy! Awesome choice. I gotta say although #2 is great, I think #1 screams Effortless, so go with it!
ReplyDeleteFollow your gut, but I like number one, the logo just reads more clearly and strongly to me. But then I'm drawn to simple lines vs. more complicated lines. Looking fabulous!!!!
ReplyDeleteJanell
I love the green chair in the first picture! I am loving orange and green lately what great colors and with navy, who would have thought!
ReplyDelete#1 is classic and elegant. #2 is too busy and not "effortless." the sidebar borders look great and I love where you're taking it. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteHey! I think #1 is clean and effortless! Can you do the green lime like in #2, looks fresh! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteI definitely like #1 the best, it's simple and classic and 'effortless' in my opinion!
ReplyDeleteI like #2 because of the use of color/pattern in the title but I'm worried that you may get tired of it down the road. Also, if you want your label to remain consistent among your blog, business cards, notes, etc. I think #1 would work best. I can't wait for the new site and hope you have a fantastic trip!
ReplyDeleteI am so inspired by this post! I am moving into a new place and have been drawn to blues and greens and now I know exactly what I am going to do.
ReplyDeleteMy vote is #1 as well - its more timeless but I agree with other comments that the color needs to pop a little more.
love #1. classic. i love the navy and orange... just changed my header to those colors a couple months ago :)
ReplyDeleteok. first. he orange shoes don't pop... as they blend in with the floor.....and the etagere competes with the art on the walls.... just the camera angle I think...
ReplyDeleteI would like to see a color in the photos repeated in the typography... to give some continuity and tie it together. just thinking thru this with basic art principles. I like the first one but needs to be a little bolder..maybe larger.the little oragne flowers look like clutter in the second one.
love you and your site!
#1 is my vote! It's classic and not too fussy. I agree with whoever said that #2 look like a lot of effort for effortless style. It's a bit busy.
ReplyDeleteThe first one. The second is two busy. If you want effortless, it needs to be simpler. If you like the look of the second one, just cut back on all the extra doodles.
ReplyDelete#1... it's such a classic looking logo... and if you want to change it up later, you can always change the color. But, with #2, you would have to change the entire thing up probably if you wanted a change.
ReplyDelete# 2 is fun, but i'm thinking # 1 but its your site, I love the pics you've choosen - like your mix of colors!
ReplyDeletefirst of all, love the color combo — did a post on blue and orange this week and they're the colors for my school! second, go with number one! it's more "effortless" :)
ReplyDeleteLove the color combo!
ReplyDeleteI like #1, but with your header tweaked...from a branding perspective, you need to keep your logo and look consistent for your customers don't get confused...so whatever your logo is, do that as your header (I think it was the same font as #1 but with curly brackets instead?). #2 is cute but a little busy in my opinion!
#1 is more elegant and classic, but I've been reading your blog for a while now and I don't think it really reflects your personality.
ReplyDeleteThat said, I think #2 is too busy. Maybe without the floral touches? Or maybe with JUST the flower inside the O?
Love your new blog look! #1 is my choice!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely #2. The colors make me happy just looking at them.
ReplyDeleteAs some have mentioned they think it is a bit busy, but in my mind it shows that you have creative juices, which is what people are looking for in a designer. Also if you keep everything else very simple and user friendly it won't feel overwhelming.
I too think it goes better with your personality, though I haven't met you.
both are great #2 is fun and fresh, but #1 is my choice, classy and chic not too busy allows you to focus on the design images and not the logo
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! I hadn't ever thought to put these colors together but what a fabulous combo~
ReplyDeleteFabulous blog - so glad I found it!
xx
Love your inspiration photos! I vote for #1 because it does look more effortless. You could consider making the logo border or the word "interiors" navy for a bit more spunk too. Looks great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great post. Definitely #1. I think #2 looks like too much for something that is supposed to be "effortless."
ReplyDeletelove love love the colors and your new look!!
ReplyDeleteThey are actually close to the colors I am thinking of going with for my wedding. I want like a royal blue color, orange (of course) and a lime/citron/greenish color. What do you think of the combo for a wedding??
I like the design of number one with the brighter color of number two! But mostly I adore the greek key, so if you keep that, I'm happy!
ReplyDeletelove option 1! Looks more "effortless"
ReplyDeletebeautiful, that nursery is stunning, love the rocker, so classy but also so unusual
ReplyDeleteLove the color combos, maybe a post soon on how to do orange with green and not look retro-rific? I like the first logo best, it's scrolly but not too busy, reads effortless.
ReplyDeleteNumber 1. #2 seems too busy. Overall, great look.
ReplyDeleteGood - I'm glad I am saying the same thing as everyone else. DEFINITELY 1!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the color combination.
Alaina
Looking Great!! Am voting for #1, as it's cleaner design, is so fitting with "effortless style" ... Looks like a few agree!! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteLove the new color combo- much more "you"! :) I definitely vote #1- more classy in my opinion.. and as others have said- it looks more 'effortless'.
ReplyDeleteI agree with several other readers: though #2 is fun and colorful, it doesn't convey "effortless" the way the first one does.
ReplyDeleteSo my vote is for #1.
I love #1. It does, indeed, look like effortless style!
ReplyDelete#2. It looks higher end, more professional. #1 is nice, but it reminds me of a blog header. #2 is more polished and stylish.
ReplyDeleteOooh, that's a toughie! I love them both, but think I like #1 better, simply because it's a cleaner look. Think the plaque could be a tad larger, though.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love what she's come up with for you, and think in the end, it will have been worth the wait! ;)
I LOVE this color combo...navy and blue are my college colors (go UVa!) and I happen to have paired them both with green for my living room! So chic :) I think my vote is for the classic look of #1!
ReplyDeleteIf you like the Celerie Kimble fabric, you are love Sarah Richardson's latest "Sarah's House" episode where she renovates the Master Bedroom of a farmhouse. She used perhaps that exact fabric on a set of chairs in the room and they look fabulous... not too much navy in the room, but you should definitely check it out on the hgtv.ca site :)
ReplyDeleteWow... I LOVE it!. The color combo is fab along with the greek keys and your pictures.. It's perfect.
ReplyDelete#1 is cleaner to me #2 cute but busier.
Can't wait to see what you choose.
#1 is my fav!
ReplyDeletelove #1!
ReplyDeleteit's clean and perfect!
i'm also obsessed with navy lately..
i'm re-doing my living room with it!
Fabulous, I really love the first one :)
ReplyDeleteLove it Camila!!!! Such a beautiful incorporation of colors and befitting you. i like the first one best, I also love how she incorporated your work photos too, so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI would hire you based on #1!!!!
ReplyDeleteI would hire you on #1!!!
ReplyDeleteNumber 1...the lettering on the second is distracting.
ReplyDeleteeither way you go - you will always be "high heeled foot in the door" to me! :)
ReplyDeletecongrats on the progress------

ReplyDeleteI LOVE that orange phone!! Where can I get one of those?!
ReplyDeleteI love option #1! I think it's nice and clean and simple.
ReplyDeleteLove them both but I would go with #1 and maybe make it larger. Love #2 but i think it takes away from the images, which is what it's all about!
