A sea of blue…

Lately all I can think of is blue.  I’ve always liked the color, but it was never my favorite. In the most recent weeks it’s slowly been invading my head and I’m constantly thinking of it especially NAVY!

Yesterday while out client shopping I peek into Ralph Lauren Home and what should I see?

Ah! Navy & White striped sofa! Yes please. Wrap it up. Plus throw in that diagonal toss pillow for good measure.

These beauties were sitting opposite the sofa as well. I’ll take the chairs and those pillows as well.  The room looked beautiful, but you know me I love color so if they were going in my house I would probably be adding kelly green to the mix.

Then on my way out I noticed this:

More stripes! Not too much navy going on here, but lots of other blues. The funniest thing is that I have a sofa jammed into my garage that looks just like it..Well rewind looks just like that sofa before RL got their hands on it. Mine is still varies shades of gold, but it’s on my list for one day I’ll refinish it and it will go in my house.

After seeing that number above poor Jon has no hopes of talking me into tossing it to the curb so that he can have more space in the garage. No way!

Don’t you love how one little outing leads to so much inspiration? I already have a bunch of room designs going on in my head. Now I just need some more clients that love blue as much as me.

  2. I am in the process of moving and was just thinking what color scheme could go with my cognac colored leather sofa (that we will prob be keeping, trying to save money). I was thinking of going w/ navy and white. Like a Ralph Lauren, Thomas O'Brien rustic industrial modern look. Had my heart set on one of those Steel Steamer trunks as a coffee table, but once I got going it was NOT cost effective to do go with the color scheme! Now I am rethinking after your post.

  7. I love all shades of blue. I designed my daughter's room in a very pale blue (not a baby boy blue) with gold trim, my son's room is navy and white...it's stunning. I just bought a silk velvet at the Brunschwig & Fils warehouse sale in various shades of blue...it gorgeous (in this mornings post.) I think of navy and white as timeless. Oh, you can't let you sofa in the garage go if it looks like the one in the photo...once you refinish it will be fabulous!
