A while ago we all fell in love with Erin's bookcases:
Now Erin's were from DWR and still available for $198-$298.
CB2 has a version for $189:
West Elm also joined in on the fun and has their own version in wood on sale now for $149:
I think that if you know what wall you want your books to reside on I would go with this option:
It’s $9.99 for a small and $12.99 for a large.
You simply place the silver shelf in your back cover:
And then just stack away. Each shelve holds up to 20 lbs.
I would do a couple vertically up a wall and voila you get the same look for much less!

That would make a crazy adorable nightstand for a bedroom cramped on space. Great find!
ReplyDeleteI have always loved these bookcases. I was actually thinking that I might make my own and mount it right onto the wall. I would have to wait until I moved out of my rental though...
ReplyDeletethis looks awesome!! i have always loved this look!!
ReplyDeleteI have the shorter DWR one, and I love it! My husband, then boyfriend, gave it to me years ago for a present. and it gets so many compliments when guests visit. In my first NYC apartment I had it in my entry way, and it became an instant conversation piece as guests would scan my titles as they entered/exited and would ask how I liked various books.
ReplyDeleteI've seen this a while back on ikeahacker.com
ReplyDelete$39.00 for 2... cant beat that

I have one of the CB2 shelves in my office and while I love the look of it, it's SO not practical with a little one walking around. He just loves to pull the books out. Wish I would've thought of that before I bought it. Oh well, it looks cool and that's all that really matters, right. : b
ReplyDeleteOh, I am totally going to do this! My husband and I have so many books, we make Barnes & Noble look empty! What a fabulous idea- thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE spine book cases!
ReplyDeleteThe vertical bookcase has been on my wish list for like for ever, one of my favorites looks! Love your look for less! Now I just wish I could make that kind of holes on our rented apartment...
ReplyDeleteWhat a great option! I love this look.
