{Diane Von Furstenburg's Library via In Style}
Ever since I watched Beauty & the Beast all I have ever wanted in a home was a room for a library with a sliding ladder of course. Our little teeny cottage doesn't leave much room for a library so I don't have one yet, but it's my dream room files.
What's one thing in your dream home file?
oh fabulous.
ReplyDeleteum, my absolute, dream, would probably actually kill someone for but that would be counterproductive bc then i'd be in jail, is a monogram vintage LV trunk as a coffee table
2 words. Footed Bathtub.
ReplyDeleteThat library looks amazing!
We're dream file twins! Beauty & the Beast is my favorite movie *ever* and I've been dreaming of a similar library ever since then :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Camilla! We are so similar...beauty and the beast is my favorite disney movie and I have always wanted a library with a ladder since seeing it. I used to tell my mom I wanted a library room like Belle's (: I love this room. It's so inviting.
ReplyDeleteThis would be amazing - def. one for the dream ohuse camilla! KG
ReplyDeleteA gorgeous, sun-filled, floral wallpapered Laundry Room. (This is a little sad, I know. But I'd take this over a master bath or, scratch that, an actual master bedroom, any day of the week).
ReplyDeleteAlways has and always will be a library!!!
ReplyDeleteMy list is super long, but if I have to choose one I would say a spa-like bathroom that has a lot of Provence in it. Weird, I know...but very me. Love that library! I adore books!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I love that library! That is exactly what I would LOVE to have.... a place for my books, a place to write....
ReplyDeletelove that! a library of any type!
ReplyDeleteThat picture is epitome of what is wrong with digital reading devices. It's an amazing room that would be blah without all those books! And they actually mean something to her, which is such a lovely reason to have books. Okay, soapbox done!

Lovely room. I think I would really love a walk-in-library.
ReplyDeleteSuzy xxx
We turned our breakfast room into a library. Unfortunately it promptly turned into a great big mess. My bookshelves are crammed with books that spill onto the floor. My reading chair usually holds laundry waiting to be put away. Sigh...every once in awhile I get to sit in my library and read, usually to my children.
ReplyDeleteYou know what they say, be careful what you wish for, you just might get it? Well I'm afraid to wish for a yoga room, I might never do yoga again!
Cheers!

Camila,
ReplyDeleteYou and I have the same dreams! I have always, always loves a library with the sliding ladder...it is beyond amazing. I have actually thought of creating one on a blank wall in two different areas...I may tackle it someday!
A Serge Mouille ceiling fixture- in white:) Still dreaming in techni colour on that one I'm afraid.
ReplyDeleteI think we all have that little girl with big dreams still in us! I would die for a library with a sliding ladder, a secret, unruly garden, a loft also accessible by ladder for slumber parties and building forts made of pillows, a magical wardrobe (obviously not going to happen! haha)...oh the list could go on!
ReplyDeleteLove the library room! I would actually LOVE to have a dream patio...of course, complete with a spa and all the tranquil planters with gorgeous foliage and custom wood benches with lots of pollow, lighting, etc. Maybe it's a stress free life I dream of...HA!

Candace
Mine is decidedly unsexy and far more utilitarian but I would LOVE a nice, big, well appointed mudroom. Yes, I know...a mudroom. I just hate all the clutter that accumulates at the entry way in a home and it would be so great to have a space dedicated to just capturing all that stuff so I could keep it out of the rest of the house/kitchen. Of course I'd want it to be lovely with plate rail height beadboard, painted above in a cheerful, welcoming color. There would be room for everyone's "stuff", storage for coats, gloves, umbrellas, pool towels, dog leashes...all the stuff we routinely take in and out of the house in the various seasons. Aaah...I feel better already. :) Someday!!!
ReplyDeleteBeauty and the Beast absolutely had that effect on me too! Love the library.
ReplyDeleteI would love a rustic attic art studio. Or a conservatory a la "Practical Magic".
ReplyDeleteI have the same dream room! Mine is two stories with lots of wonderful ladders and good chairs to cuddle up with a good book.
