When in doubt hide it…

You know the moment when panic sets in, because you had all day to clean the house, but decided it would be best to do it 5 mins before guest arrive?

Happens to me a lot not because my house is messy. I try and keep everything nice and neat at all times, but with with my work I tend to spread all my stuff out and it gets quite cluttered.

Enter what I now need to run out and purchase.

BIN-GO LARGE CARRY ALL:

BIN-GOLARGE

Ok so yes, I found it on a baby store site and no I don’t have any babies, but I think these could work for anyone. I could throw in my paint fan deck, tape measure, drafting tape, etc and have a clean work space in minutes.

Then you use the handy handles and hide it in a closet!

I would even get a couple to leave in my car trunk that way things won’t roll around aimlessly.

What tricks do you have up your sleeves for cleaning clutter in a hurry?

I have baskets in my work room for each "project" so I just throw in a few quick clean-up, clutter-filled baskets to the collection ... and I look like a very busy, productive, creatively infused individual, with everything organized by basket. When in reality, there are maybe 2 out of 10 baskets that contain actual works-in-progress.

a glass of wine so this way i won't be as concerned with the mess. it's usually not clutter, it's dog hair which makes me quite unhappy!

I found a bag from two's company and carry it everywhere. I wish I had several, It is a red and white print, and folds flat, so it can fit under a bed or in a
drawer. Everyone comments on it and it is my go to market bag.
That one is so cute.

Those storage bins are great! I might have to order a blue one for Roman Noodle's toys and a pink one for Super Sadie's toys.

I am like you as far as last minute cleaning. My house is always kept neat, but like you the clutter spreads over time. All my anatomy books, my papers, equipment etc. Maybe I'll have to order a green one for my stuff...

I bought some clear children's shoe boxes at Container Store - they are a great size. Super easy to see what is inside and they are very stable stacked. I put all my paints, brushes, trims, postcards, envelopes, and whatever other 'collections' I have lying around and stack them in my office armoire. Easy to stay organized (did I say that?!) when I just pull out a couple of the ones I need instead of big bins or baskets of stuff. Plus they were on sale for like 3 bucks each!

great storage bin, that would be better than raking everything into random drawers, which is what I do :)

I wanted to tell you that you can actually order these bins on Amazon -- with FREE shipping if you spend $25 -- just in case you're really interested in getting any.

yeah I'm a total stasher. I opened a drawer in the chest in our dining room the other day and was astonished/embarrassed as what was inside!
