Go bold or go home…

A couple of days ago this stunning lady made my jaw drop:

vintagesofa

My mom thought I was taking a picture of it to make fun of it on the blog, but I had burst her bubble and tell it was love.

The piece was in perfect condition filled with flowers in orange, pink and blue!

Of course I wanted to haul it away with me, but then remembered that I had no room for it in my house and my current clients aren’t this bold so I had to leave it behind. Ah yet another reason why I need a shop!

How do you feel about such a bold statement on a rather large piece of furniture? Love it or hate it? I know that my vintage find would feel right at home at the new Black & Spiro store.

If that sofa is too much for you , but you still love the look I would use this fabric:

Nightingale

For some toss pillows or tufted ottoman!

I love it. The build actually looks very similar to a couch I've had in my home for the past 5 years (recently replaced) it was also bold with green, dark pink, and light pink. I swear, it's probably from the same designer. I'll have to see if I can find a picture of the couch.

yeah...way too much for me...but I could see it as some throw pillows or even a tufted ottoman.

You have great taste though so I am sure you would have made it work if you had somewhere to use it.

I think the fabric is gorgeous. Definitely a bold piece but in the right setting could totally be pulled off!

We had this pattern (but w/ white background) on our couch when I was little. I think my parents donated it a while back : /

If anyone could make it work, it would be you!

My first reaction was "wow! amazing" and then the more I looked at it, the more I thought I would like it for a few weeks, and then I would hate it. I'm really into more neutral-esque (do you count Navy as a neutral?) couches with awesomely bold pillows and maybe a chair.

I love the textile! I generally go with neutral sofas and jazz up with pillows, artwork in the room and other splashes of color. However, this sofa looks well made and I love the textile (reminds a touch of my wallpaper in our dining room)...I could build a room around this sofa! I would do a more neutral room and add spice with the sofa and various metals/wood tones.

Honestly, I adore you and your style, but this sofa would drive me nuts! I keep my upholstered pieces neutral and get pops of color from accessories, pillows. If that sofa entered my house through the front door, it would exit through the back door so fast it wouldn't have time to collect dust.

Ha ha I knew the reaction to this sofa would be a mix. :)

I'm sorry guys, but I'm still loving it. I don't know if Jon would ever allow something like that in our living room, but if I get a lady den I want something like that. :)

Belinda we totally need to go shopping together. You need to come to NY...better yet I need to go down under. :)
