Child's Play
I loved seeing Paula's latest design project featured on her blog today. Her darling 4 year old got the room redo she wanted and I’m in heaven. Ellie I’ll move into your room in a heart beat!
I was once again reminded that a child’s room does not need to look like a cookie cutter image straight out of a catalog.
Take a peek at some more sophisticated yet fun kid’s/tween’s rooms:
Pink and Orange is always a winning combo in my eyes. I love the mixture of patterns and I think the white walls really help the room POP!
Here is another take on the pink and orange combo. It’s completely different, but I enjoy it as well. I think any tween girl would live their happily.
This following room just screams glamour to me. Love that they went away from the traditional pink room most girls enjoy and had fun with blue, white and black. Plus I spy a ghost chair and that is always a must have!
Staying in the same color family we have a different take on it below. There are still touches of glam with the fur poof, touch of lucite and zebra. In addition to that amazing window seat, which I always wanted in my room.
Below we have a similar color palette as well, but this room is a bit more young lady than tween. I love the fabric covered message board and of course the stuffed monkey is such a sweet addition to the room.
Last, but not least is the combo of pink and green. Always a favorite in decor and I love the way it was used in this room as well. The mix of the polka dots and stripes is perfection and I totally want to curl up in that pink loveseat.
I know the rooms featured above are a bit over the top and very high-design looking, but I think they are great points of inspiration for when you are decorating your own child’s room to remember to have a bit more fun, experiment with colors and patterns and always be stylish.

i LOVE Paula's daughter's room!!! awesome
xoxo
I love that blue room with the ghost chair - I'm a big fan of kids having rooms they can grow with - not anything that's stuck in too much of a theme. All of these images are beautiful!
I would have LOVED any of those rooms. Still would!
I would honestly love to have any of those rooms! haha. Even now. I just love when they are so simple but then when I get in a room I have so much stuff and have to make it all do double duty :P One day!
Love them!! especially the blue and white. and what girl doesn't love pink!!
I love the 4th one down, I want it for my bedroom- so chic and grown up feeling
Camila, as a mother to a nine year old, I completely agree! Pictures of her room are back on my blog somehwere, and what I love most is how hers is unique to her personality and likes. It will easily transition as she gets older.
Of course, I say that now, but when she hits her teen years I just may redo it again just for some mother-daughter fun.
Thank you for many beautiful and inspiring rooms for our little ladies.
I love pink and green combo...I think it is wonderful.
I'm trying to think of a color combo for my master bedroom for when I move. I want it to be neutral enough that Prince Phillip doesn't feel like he's staying in a girl's room. :)
I love these rooms, they are so fun! The first and last ones are my favorite, but the images are all inspiring!
Great tips - and perfect timing on this post for moi!
This just made my day, thank you so much for the mention:)
i love the blue and white rooms, but as a tween, I would have DIED for the pink and green!
ohhhh my, these are gorgeous! I kinda want the blue, white & zebra room for myself.
so many cute rooms! i like them all!
these are all great rooms and i definitely want my (hypothetical) child to have a room that she/he can grow into as opposed to out of.
love, love, love all the images. I agree with you about how a kids room shouldn't have to be a cookie cutter version of a catalogue. I'm loving the red and orange combination.
Ellie's room is super cute! I love the green and just realized that Ellie and I have the same comforter.
What great inspiration rooms! The blue and white room with the ghost chair is simply beautiful.
I find inspiration for little girl rooms all over the internet, but i have trouble finding anything worthwile for a little boy. Have you seen any great ones around?
These are GREAT! I too love the blue room with the ghost chair.
She picked a great paint color...really like that.
yeah, i want that room with a ghost chair too. not fair!!
Ellie's room is adorable- Paula did such a great job.
Love the room w/ the black & white rug with the pops of blue in the room.
I love the blue, white and black room! I want that room.
Love these rooms! Thanks for sharing.
Love em! I've long admired that square and circle print on the curtains and bedding. Wish I knew where I could get it.
These are all pretty fabulous. I really love that built-in wardrobe/shelves/drawer number! I think Paula did a great job and Ellie is a lucky, lucky girl.
I really like the last one... That the way I'm heading for my 1 year old, but with yellow instead of green :)

Amazingly simple yet chic designs. The Pink and Orange is an interesting combination
especially towards the window. Yet the one that wins it is the blue, especially that
amazing window seat setup. Love it, love it.
