Giveaway: 5 Gallons of Olympic Stain!

With those beautiful spring and summer days ahead of us my mind has constantly been thinking deck, deck, deck.

We wanted to build one last year, but a crazy thing like a budget made us rethink it and we decided this would be the year.

Of course as the nice weather started approaching I started thinking that perhaps we should save our money for other things. Then we found out about our tax refund and began to do a happy dance in the backyard. The deck could be finished along with a couple of other projects and heck I threw in the idea of a trip to Paris as well! I got a maybe from Jon so we shall see. Long story even longer I’ve now been on the hunt for different layouts on decks and stain options.

Enter the sweet people at Olympic.

olympic stain

They told me all about their stains and the cool new colors they come in.

Traditionally stains come in wood tones, but you know me I LOVE color so I was happy to see that you can now get stains in colors!

Check out all of the options:

solid_swatch

Now  you can get the stain in two different ways.

First way is to have the Solid Color Stain, which mimics the look of paint, but still protects the wood.

If you want some of the grain to still show through then your best option would be to use their Semi Transparent Stain.

So dear readers of mine what is up for grabs is 5 gallons of stain. Woo hoo! If you have never stained before they even have a great FAQ section that will have you staining in no time.

To enter here is what you have to do.

- Make sure you are a follower of HHFITD.

- Go onto Olympics site and check out their DIY projects they have 3 up at the moment that utilize stain. Leave me a comment and tell me which one is your favorite.

-Make sure you leave your email address in the comments!

- If you tweet or blog about this give-away come on back and enter again.

*Remember anyone can enter you don’t need to have a blog to do so.

Give-away will en

d Sunday April 18 @ midnight EST

Now if your deck looks like this you must remember to invite me over! :)

I hope you all enjoy the give-away. It’s just my way to give you all a little thanks for being such loyal readers, supporters and friends.

that deck on the canal is now my screen saver at work and I can't stop staring!

Without a doubt the flower box is my favorite project. As a matter of fact, that is on my husbands honey do list for the spring!

As well as staining our fence, so this prize would be way convenient!

Thanks for a chance...

We're getting ready to rebuild our back porch (we had to rip it out to work on waterproofing the basement, and man, was it in bad shape!) so stain would be fantastic for that! I love the kids picnic table, but really, really love the trellis. I'm having to stop myself from running out to buy the stuff right now...my roses could sure use it!

I had no idea they made stains that mimicked paint! That's so awesome!

My favorite project is the planter's box. We're working on our front porch at the moment and a couple of those would be awesome. Maybe I can talk my hubs into building one. Fingers crossed!

Even though the garden trellis stole my heart I think it would be smarter to go with the 'beginners' project. Cute flower boxes it is!
Those would look fabulous under any window :)

I need a new trellis for my confederate jasmine, and I love the copper pipe in the Olympic garden trellis. I also need to stain a deck, fence, and screened porch, so the 5 gallons of stain would be a good start to that project.

I love the trellis- we have a fug retaining wall and putting something like that over it would be a big improvement- however we can't do that until we powerwash and re-stain our entire house! We have cedar siding and the whole house has to be done, so 5 gallons would be a nice help to us!

The Mister and I could put that stain to some good use. The uses really pile up now that I realize stain comes in colors. Like, real colors. I thought stain only came in shades of wood tones.

The planter boxes would be our best bet. I’ve been toying with the idea of raised gardens. With my black thumb of death a raised garden would help me with soil and having the best lifestyle of my plants. Who says a plant doesn’t need a lovely lifestyle of its own? Not only do they need a great atmosphere their planter box pad should rock. Therefore, I’d give it the solid color stain.
