Rubie Green Event Recap
Hi Loves,
It’s 8pm Sunday night and this little lady is already in bed. Why you may ask? Well, Danay is moving tomorrow! That’s right the same sister that got her bedroom recently re-vamped is moving on up!
To the Upper East side to be exact. Since Mom isn’t letting her take anything from the room. It will now be the new guest room I have a new project on my hands.
This weekend was spent getting staples for her new apartment and packing! I’m wiped. Tomorrow we will move all her stuff over and then I need to get started on my design plans for the room. Don’t worry I’ll keep you all posted throughout this project.
Since this weekend was very boring filled with trips to IKEA and filling up suitcases I decided you would like a little glimpse into my evening with Rubie Green and Lonny magazine creator, Michelle Adams.
Her cocktail event in honor of Rubie Green was held at Calypso Home.
The store was filled with pillows galore! I saw many John Robshaw that I wanted to bring home with me! All attendees were also given a 20% discount for that night.
I thought I nearly died and had gone to heaven when I spotted this:
How amazing is the color way of Patsy! They had in a dark grey and then a lighter grey. Both had me wanting to stuff some pillows under my dress and say a quick good-bye! :)
Of course I saw a photo op right away and had to snap a picture with me in it.
Here is a little vingette with a Green tip on it!:
The nesting tables were covered in white snake skin. This would be a very simply DIY project for anyone’s home. Simply purchase a roll of snake skin wallpaper and some wallpaper paste and you are in business.
Another peek of East Village in grey:
The lady of the hour was quite busy with many, many, many people vying for her attention, but I needed to take a moment of her evening to say hello!
Michelle and I are old email buddies, but had never met face to face so it was wonderful to see her in person. We were both emailing back and forth that morning freaking out about our outfits, but she did not disappoint. Always so stylish and chic!
She was rocking these to die for shoes :
After enjoying some yummy treats and champagne we headed home and were given a lovely gift bag full of a list of great GREEN tips.
I decided to scan the paper so the we could all enjoy the tips!
I have to be honest. I’m not always as green as I want to be. I have many reusable totes, but at times I do tend to forget them on my way to the market.
What is your favorite go GREEN tip that I can incorporate into my life?
Since I’ll be moving in Danay tomorrow I’ll be without internet access most of the day! I’m not lucky enough to have an iphone, but maybe I’ll get lucky come Christmas!
xoxo,
Camila

I completely gave up paper towels and napkins a while ago. I use tea towels and cloth napkins and I love it. It's so fancy to use cloth napkins with dinner every meal.
S jealous!! Looks like you had a great night!! Good luck with the move, can't wait to see what you do. Green tip? Buy vintage...
I love those pillows and those shoes! To die for!
Unfortunately I'm not very green at all...Hmmm...let me think what do I do?
Yeah I can't think of anything. I need to be better.
Oh look! My capache code is green. Does that count?
(singing) awesome awesome awwwwwesssooooooome!!!!!!!
What a wonderful event and thank for the tips. I think buying vintage is a great tip and filtering your water instead of going for bottled.
Looks like you had a fabulous evening! And how exciting about your new project!!
Wished I could have gone, but the evening did not allow me to scoot in to that fun event, 3 with homework and after-school activities!
Looks like it was a great event and love the photo of the 2 of you!
pve
I'm finally bringing my own bags to the grocery store, and avoiding excessive packaging. Also, I don't print much from my computer...it keeps the ink costs down as well :)
Aren't those cute little cards...are they illustrated by Rubie?
What a wonderful event...
Best,
Michelle
So jealous of this event. What a blast! I love those pillow and her shoes. I wanted those heels forever! Can't wait to see what you do with your sisters place!
What a fun event! I love the outfit you went with btw :)
Looks like a fun evening. Those pillows were gorgeous. Love the color combination.
Looks like a wonderful time and I love the illustrations that accompany all the green tips.
I love this post! What gorgeous pillows and fab shoes! Those little bits of advice are so cute!!
I am so excited to have just found your blog!!! Looks like a fabulous night!
great post that i enjoyed reading! sooo wish it was in dallas
Great event! And yay! Another fun project!
that pile of pillows is droolworthy, indeed! And you and Michelle both look so cute! Glad it was fun!
green tips... hm, I use green dishwashing soap and cleaning products. It was an easy switch and comes in lovely smelling natural scents, like lavendar and eucalyptus.
I'm not perfectly green, either, but we've become more so by default living in Brazil. We don't have a disposal, so we began to compost our fruit peels, coffee grounds, table scraps - it's done wonders to enrich the soil in our garden!
Looks like a wonderful evening - DYING over the new, gray colorway!
oh what a fun night!!! you look gorgeous as always!!!
we just got a new simple human trash-recycling combo thing that makes it way better to recycle. (used to have a bag on the floor in my pantry for recycling & i was sometimes lazy and didn't "do my part" bc it was such a pain)
xoxo
