Chic & Cheap: Duvets as Curtains

Kyle from Knight Moves is a favorite go-to blog of mine, because we share a LOVE for orange.

A couple of days ago Kyle posted about her guest bedroom and how she used a duvet as a curtain:

Kyle used curtain chips to simply hang a king size duvet. No sewing at all! You can see her tips here.

The duvet she used is available here.

A couple of days ago I found another fun lattice/grid type duvet that could be used for the same thing:

Available here.

I will be sure to save this tip for all of my budget friendly projects. Yardage can add up when having custom panels made so this is a great alternative.

This is a great idea! Especially for when you find a really great printed duvet cover on sale or at a store like HomeGoods, Ross, etc.!

Awesome idea -- I always scan homegoods for cheap sheet sets, I never use flat sheets on my bed so they're great for creating coordinating window treatments or pillows!

I never use my flat sheets, but always save them and end up using them in craft projects. :)

I love the idea of using the duvet's because the have a nice weight to them and will hang properly and not be totally see-through.

Another use for sheet sets is by using the flat sheet to make a shower curtain. A typical 54" home decor fabric for a shower curtain means panels need to be seamed together. A larger flat sheet would eliminate that.

Great idea! I make duvet covers with two sheets. I make sure I get one size higher if I can, otherwise it is close. I put buttons or velcro at the top.
Have a nice evening.

This is such a great idea. I've used this technique before to have them resewn into draperies but I've never thought about just hanging the king sized duvet without having it altered. Great inspiration. Have a great weekend! -c

I totally copied Kyle's idea and got those same duvets for my guest room. I love the navy one you found too- had never been to that site before- thanks!
