Weekend Recap: Exhausted!

Hello, hello

Monday morning came way too quickly. This weekend was jam packed and due to all that my house looks like a bomb hit. I wasn’t able to unpack from the trip so there are clothes, luggage, mail, etc tossed all over. Today my main goal is to clean, clean, clean, but for now lets forget about all that and recap some of the fun that was had.

On Saturday I went into the city bright and early to wish my sister a Happy 25th Birthday! Of course I had to remind her that she was now half way to 50!

We started out the day with brunch at Essex. This restaurant is known for their famous brunches so it was no surprised when we arrived and the place was jam packed. You literally had to push people out of your way to move around.  If you are in NYC I would recommend a visit and invite me along!

Here is the birthday girl at our table:

After filling our bellies we headed over to Grand Spa and got our nails done.

I went with Damsel in a dress:

We all had mini celeb sighting sitting next to Su-chin Pak former MTV news correspondent.

Loving the Lower East Side I remembered one of my favorite donuts shops was near by so of course we needed to pop in for some sweets.

Doughnut Plant donuts are simply put amazing. They have unique variety of yeast donuts such as tres leches and peanut butter and jelly to name a few. The line was out the door when we arrived, but it was totally worth it.

The night then continued with dinner and later to a bar with a live band. Since this lady had a client meeting early the next day I headed home at the stroke of midnight. So I’m awaiting to see pictures of all that missed!

Sunday client meeting went well. We made some decisions and then headed out to the NY International Gift Fair. We hit both the Javits Center and Pier 94. I must say it was all a SNOOZE! Yes the Javits center had some cool items if you owned your own shop, but for an interior decorator there wasn’t much. Heading over to Pier 94 I thought I would see more design related items, but it was pretty much a repeat of the August show. Swedish furniture, industrial reproductions, natural curiosities type artwork, blah, blah, blah. I thought it would be full of potential for new blog posts and trends, but it was all old news to me. Anyone else go? Thoughts?

After the show it was time to met up with my family to celebrate my sister’s birthday…again. We headed to Pipa, which is right next to ABC HOME and pretty much heaven, because not only is the food delish, but the interior is decorated by ABC HOME!

The ceiling is full of sparkly chandeliers that can be purchased if you so choose. The walls are aged brick and plaster with designs made out of seashells along with antique mirrors filling the space.

You’ll just find yourself repeating how cool, pretty, chic, etc the restaurant is and want to come again. It also helps that food was great as well!

We headed back to home around 5 and went straight to bed to settle in with my latest season of Weeds!

Weeds: Season Five

So good! I must get showtime I hate waiting till it comes out on DVD.

I hope you all had a great weekend and that fun was had. I know my next weekend is going to be full of interior design projects so it was nice to have a NYC filled weekend.
