Last Favorite things GIVE AWAY… a tear

Ah it’s so sad my list of Favorite things has slowly come to a close. I hope you all enjoyed the give-aways this year. The response has been amazing and it will now become a yearly tradition!

Last week I was finally able to watch Julie and Julia. Ever since I’ve been watching previews for this movie a certain clip has always made me a bit teary eyed.

 

In the scene Julie is explaining her love of Julia to her husband and says, “ She saved me. I was drowning and she pulled me out of the ocean.”

I hate to get sappy, but that is exactly how I feel about blogging and my readers. When I started this blog I was at a total stage of discontent with my job. I had moved around a bit trying to find the perfect fit and nothing every felt right. My thoughts always went back to being my own boss and interior design.

 

This blog gave me the confidence to do that.  My schooling is 99% finished (just waiting on my grades for my final unit), after 4 web designers I’m finally with one that is doing an amazing job on my professional site,  after that the blog gets a re-vamp and then hopefully a little secret side project I’ve been working on with some fellow bloggers will be revealed.

 

All of these give-aways was my little way of saying Thank you! There have been many ups and a couple downs this year and I have been able to get through it all with your support.

Favorite things: For the DIY-er!

Ok so this isn’t exactly a holiday gift idea, but it is one of my favorite things. I find that as the holidays roll around people are trying to make their home the best that they can be.

 

Case in point me and Mom just started a massive project yesterday to make the house prettier that needs to be finished by this weekend when my Aunt is coming to stay and spend the holidays! Talk about a time crunch!

 

I’m a complete marketers dreams and I’m not going to lie what struck the most when I saw this product was the pretty label.

 

I loved the retro vibe of it and I was pretty sold right away.

 

Mythic Paint:

 

Not only does it look pretty, but it’s 0% toxic which means it contains ZERO voc’s! It has ultra low odor plus amazing durability and coverage.

 

They have 1,232 colors in both interior and exteriors and a variety of sheens. They can also color match any competitors colors.

Favorite things: Fabricadabra GIVE-AWAY

Many times a room in your house can get a quick new look by simply switching out accessories.

 

I tend to have a small pillow problem and my hubby’s closet is stuffed with my extra toss pillows for the living room that I like to rotate to switch things up.

 

Now being a design lover I know that many designer pillows are in the $100 and up range. That’s a bit too much for this thrifty lady. Favorite Things: Decorative Instincts GIVE-AWAY

Nothing is better than finding a great ETSY seller. I could spend hours on there just searching and searching filling up a cart of all the items on my wish list.

 

A couple of months ago I had a wonderful transaction with etsy seller Merle of Decorative Instincts. I had ordered a pillow from her and when it arrived it seemed to have a small defect. I’m certain no one else would have  noticed but me. I emailed her and immediately she not only sent me brand new one, but threw in a little surprise as well. What wonderful customer service!

 

Her shop is filled with pillows in all of our favorite designer fabrics, aprons that I would wear in a heartbeat, but never cook in, in order to keep them clean and amazing desk accessories including stylish magazine holders in KWID imperial trellis!

 

Since I’m an avid list writer I knew exactly what I wanted to give-away from Merle’s shop. A large decorative clipboard,which I would use to keep all my client projects in order. I have a small one myself that I use in my kitchen to save all of my recipes.

The next item on my list of favorite things is a set of 10 custom notecards complete with your monogram from the lovely, Hanna Brooks Nation.

 

In my eyes her designs are beyond perfect and I would want a set of her stationary in every design! Here are a couple of my favorites:

A horse of a different color: You know me I had to pick something with zebra in it. I love that the monogram is hidden in her booty!

Bringing up baby: Ah my love for animal print is always
expanding so this print needed to be added as one of my favorites as well.

 

Sitting Pretty: Perfect for the interior decorator in your life. This has to be one of my faves!

Favorite things: La Plates - GIVEAWAY

If you know me even a little bit then you know that I enjoy a good pop of color, pattern and I can never turn down a good monogram.

 

Of course when I stumbled onto La Plates  site massive excitement is totally putting lightly over my feelings for this site.
