Baubles & Sequins & Jewels! Oh my!

One of my favorite new stores in Newport, Rhode Island had to be a place called Sequins.

It was girly heaven!

The first thing I noticed were those white bamboo boxes that were sprinkled throughout the floor.

A have turned my mom into a interior design nut. She was itching to buy all the display mirrors instead of of the jewels.

The store was separated by color. Here is the blue/green table:

While the majority of the store was crisp white they have gold accents throughout. I love how the dangled the glass bubbles and star fish. It was a nod to the beach, but in a chic way instead of cheesy.

The white/clear section:

Bling!

Bowls filled with bracelets. I seriously loved everything and would have walked out looking like Rachel Zoe decked from head to toe in jewels.

Orange/yellow table. Don’t you love that they used vintage patio tables all throughout!

Another massive mirror. Don’t worry Mom didn’t try to shove that one in her purse. :)

A glimpse of the purple table and a mermaid that you can purchase throughout town in a variety of sizes with a glossy coat of white paint!

I love store design and this one made my heart pitter-patter!

A Happy Surprise

Thanks for all your “release me early from jury duty” vibes, because it worked! I got out around noon! Woo hoo.

I was able to go to my seamstress and pick up a slipcover and do some client shopping. While walking around the mall I stopped in my tracks at the sight of Chiang Mai Dragon all around me!

I walked right in and had no clue what store I had stepped foot in. While I have samples of the print in fabric and wallpaper I had never seen so much of it. Turn out I was in the new Vera Bradley shop.

About 8 years ago I thought Vera Bradley was…farty! There I said it! Then about 5 years ago it slowly started making it’s way into my heart and I went nutty with it. All of my gifts to people ended up being Vera Bradley and I have quite a few of min. My obsession has died down these couple of years, but I still enjoy peeking at all of their pretty patterns and now store.

Normally I wouldn’t match Chiang Mai Dragon with country style, but it really looks great in the store.

Here is a peek that shows off their ceiling painted in a punchy green apple.

They had botanical prints sprinkled all throughout.

Walking further into the store I was met with another old friend. Do you spy what I spy?

The rest of the store was a bit more country, but still really enjoyable for me.

Has anyone else stepped into one of their shops?

* Sorry for the weird angles on some of the pictures. I was trying to be discreet with my iphone!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!!!!!

Delectable Sweets

Two of my favorite things in the world is design and sweets! I can’t help it. I adore bakeries and finding that perfect cupcake, brownie, etc. While other people do bar crawls I do bakery crawls. I have made my husband come with me on outing after outing where I just have a master list of addresses and our GPS. I then get to try out shops that I’ve heard of and figure out if they make my list of the most perfect sweet.

Well a journey to this latest bakery that I spotted would be quite the trip, but at least I would know a friendly face when I arrived.

Since I won’t be able to taste these sweets anytime soon here is some eye candy of the amazing store display.

delectablestorefront

There is no way I would be able to pass that store front and not go in. All that creamy white, the stripes on the wall, the amazing lighting fixture and baked goods. Ah heaven!

Here you can catch a better look at the happy sunny yellow striped walls and get a sneak peak into their packaging. I am a marketers dream. Make the label pretty and it so coming home with me.

I love the attention to detail. Look at the packaging job on that tiny little truffle! I also love how the continued the use of yellow stripes in the packaging.

delectableinside
I love how it looks like a high-end boutique. They have your standard cupcakes and cookies, but that owner is quite the designer cake baker.

Another attention to detail that I love is that employees are asked to dress in yellow and/or white to unify there branding even more. What a presence.

As if this shop didn’t sound perfect enough already the owner has a blog that she started to document her love of cooking and photography. From there she took her dream and passion and recently opened up the shop that you see featured above.

The shop’s location is in KL, Malaysia and since I can’t taste of any of it right away I must email my girl Courtney and tell her to go have a cupcake for me!

What’s your weakness? Anyone else melt at the knees over beautiful store displays that also sell baked goods?

Could I be the only one? Share so that I can convince Jon that a Road Trip/Bakery Crawl around America is a  great idea!
