What day is today?

Well, so happy you should ask. Today is my 4 year wedding anniversary!

I can’t believe it. Time has really flown by. 4 years ago at this time I’m pretty certain I was a nervous wreak. Not about getting married. I knew I was making the right decision and was super excited about becoming a wife, but I’m shy and the thought of having all of those people staring at me was terrifying.

In honor of today I thought I would share a couple of images. I’m certain if I had know about blogs 4 years ago my wedding would have turned out so much different, but here goes.

My wedding invite:

{ I fell in love with my invites. They were cream and brown and just looked so elegant and classic to me.}

Shoes:

{On this day heels were definitely in order and with a bow to boot how could I say no?}

Dress: Vera Wang

{You know I love a good bow so I knew this dress was meant to be when I saw it! Of course I had already gotten another dress at a crazy sample sale for $400 add another 0 and that’s I had to pay for the Vera!!! It was worth it though. }

Jewelry: Vintage darlings!

{ The necklace was exactly what I wanted and only $12 on Ebay.}

The Groom:

{Ok I totally wanted to see Jon’s eyes swelling with tears the first time he saw me coming down the aisle, but I got a smile instead! Boo to that, but I forgave him. :)}

I do’s:

* Remember the whole bit of me being nervous to have all eyes on me? Well guess who slipped on her way off the alter? That would be ME!

{Thank god I had my new hubby to prevent me from fully falling on my face.}

The End:

We had a great time at our wedding. Wish I could a throw a bash like that every year, but I’m not too sure how Mom and Dad would feel about that.

Tonight I’m going to try and recreate one of the main dishes from our wedding, watch our wedding video, and of course have a dance to Into the Mystic by Van Morrison our wedding song.

I’m totally nosey so I must know what’s your first dance wedding song?

For some reason your images aren't showing up for me. I'll be sure to check back to take a peak.

Oh, and you do seem to be on the same schedule as we were... we had our m/c right at 4 years of marriage. At 11 yrs we have 2 kiddos! ;-) Hang in there.

I know you were probably mortified, but I love that your photographer caught you slipping. My mortifying moment was my dad stepping on my cathedral length veil. HA! Laughter alleviates some of that crazy nervousness.

Our first dance song was So Wonderful, So Marvelous by Tower of Power {thus the namesake of my blog!}

Happy Anniversary!!!!

Sorry in advance if you get the same message twice. Computer had a hiccup.

Happy Anniversary to you and your lucky hubby! :)

I wish I had a wedding song to share with you that we danced to but hubby and I never had a wedding. Disappointing, I know. :) One song we do have a special memory of dancing to though, was "Just To Hear You Say That You Love Me", (longest song title, ever) by the handsome Tim McGraw and his stunning wife Faith Hill.

On a side note: my Emerson Made clutch showed up today! With two little extra pins to my very pleasant surprise! Words just don't do it justice. be.still.my.heart.
Thanks so much again!!!!

Happy Anniversary! Those shoes are awesome! I'm with you--I hate being the center of attention and because of that I was extremely nervous. Our first dance was supposed to be "Lullaby" by The Dixie Chicks (surprising pick considering we don't listen to country music). Supposed to be meaning that when the time came, I looked at Bryan and asked "is it ok if we skip the dance?" and he said "sure". whew!

Love the wedding pictures! Especially the dress- It was one of the ones I looked at while dress shopping as well. Don't worry about being a two dress bride, sometimes those sales suck us in and we end up losing sight of OUR dress. (Says the girl that had more dresses than you)

Our first dance was Happy Together by the Turtles. And we both unknowingly got the others ring engraved with lines from the song. I have Happy Together, he has Me and You, I do.

i guess i'm the only one who had TWO-count'em-two wedding songs. we were stingy and didn't want to rush to the parent dances too fast. so we had one song we knew & loved & described us to a T, and then one we loved that people would recognize. the first was "no ordinary love" by (of all people) jennifer love hewitt. the second was "what a wonderful world" by louis armstrong. both were perfect & we received many compliments on both choices. greatest part, when we went on our honeymoon there was this orchestra/big band of old cats that are amazing on a band stand called the whirlygig. they played "what a wonderful world" for us...US in the middle of a sea of fabulous dancers. it was magic.
happy anniversary.

Congrats, Camilia! You looked absolutely gorgeous on your wedding day and I love your shoes!

...As for first songs, we didn't have one! Dave's one request was that we didn't dance, and so we didn't. The reception was at an old Southern mansion and given the small rooms and two floors, we just had two small groups of instrumentalists (and two bars!) and it worked out fine. Still though, kinda wish I'd just made him dance anyway. :)

P.S. Our song was 'Wouldn't It Be Nice'... the WORST song ever to dance to, but a really great story/reason behind it.

Wow! Everything about that day looks perfect. Happy Anniversary.

At our relaxed,buffet style, picnic reception 12 years ago, we set up my husband's 50 piece CD changer (thank goodness for the invention of the ipod, right)....didn't really have a dance planned, just a good time.
When "my first, my last, my everything" by Barry White started we knew that was OUR song.
Babies and "busyness" hasn't kept us from enjoying each other or our friends, as we host a blow out bash every year. I love that you share real things about yourself.
Cheers,
DG
