Look alike: Josef Frank Fabrics
Last week I got many emails asking for more information on this fabric:
That little peek of fabric got many people’s attention so I figured it was worth sharing with all where it is from.
I love Josef Frank Fabrics, but I do not love the $200+ price tag per yard.
Frank was born in Austria and later on moved to Sweden where he designed over 200 patterns between 1909-1950. Only 34 patterns are currently in product. His fabrics are a wonderful mix of color and blooms and just exude happiness to me!
Here are some of his ionic looks:
In this room his fabric is used not only on the window treatments, but on the sofa and club chair in the room as well.
One of my favorite rooms from Domino. Love the dark tulip table, the chesterfield sofa and the Josef Frank print on the window treatments.
My favorite pattern has to be this little number:
With this pattern coming in at a very close second favorite:
So when I found this:
I knew it would be making it’s way to my home and going in my office!
It is also available in a red colorway:
Along with a black colorway:
At only $22 a yard it is quite the bargain compared to the real deal.
Little designer secret of mine before ordering any fabric online try calling/emailing Orien Textile and see if they carry it first. It sometimes takes a bunch of tries to get a response, but I was able to get my fabric for $16 a yard!

Josef Frank made some amazing patterns in his time. You know, we totally should do a house swap!! Let me know if you're ever planning to visit!
All of them make me so happy, your settee looks amazing!
Love this print - and the price tag!
Um, it's perfect. I just hopped over from Little Green Notebook. I've been searching for the perfect floral fabric for my nursery, and I'm pretty sure this is it! Now I can't decide on pearl or ruby...Oh and the best part is, I followed the link to this company, and they're located 12 minutes from my house. I need to go check this place out!
It's so colorful and happy! Love it!
gorgeous finds! I am loving florals right now:)
Thanks for sharing your source! I loved the Serafina fabric Pottery Barn carried a while back and was so sad to see it isn't carried any more. These remind me very much of that.
Oh, I love it! It reminds me, to my untrained eye, a little bit of the Liberty prints (now popularized by Target). Gorgeous!
weird. we were just talking about this yesterday...i just got the black one.
love those fabrics-I posted on the Living Room at the Maidstone in East Hampton recently-the newly refurbished resort has been done in all Josef Frank prints--really spectacular! I particularly love the blue room and sun porch. Had Valentines dinner there--really lovely. great post! best, Barbara
Wow that is gorgeous! And I love the way the ottoman is upholstered too. It compliments your settee beautifully.
love the print and the price tag--great find!
Josef Frank is a design hero here in Sweden. But as much as we love him, we can't take total credit. He was actually born in Austria and moved to Sweden when the Nazis became a threat (he was Jewish). Good for trivia :-)
thanks for all of your tips. i love all of these fabrics and love getting ideas on how to use a bold fabric in a room!
great tips. thanks for the info
I really want to make pillows from these or a small chair. So pretty!
What a fabulous tip! Oh, how I adore your little sofa.
I love that we got a full shot of the settee/sofa. It is absolutely adorable! Perfect fabric choice! Marija
Wow, that's a great price for that fabric - I would've sworn it was the real deal!
such a gorgeous print! thanks for the tips!
Love it : ) I think it's the same as on this Horchow bedding.
Gorgeous print in all the colours and looks great on the sofa! thanks for the info. KG
You probably already know how much I LOVE Josef Frank and that's a terrific look-alike! Thanks for sharing it - I'm off to check it out now.
Thanks for posting this info. I found you while googling Josef Frank because this month's Better Homes and Garden Magazine has a house decorated with them,(pillows and drapes). I love the fabric and now, thanks to you I can find something that is affordable and similar.
I love this fabric too! It is available at house fabrics and the name is Wonderland

You have made me very happy. I recently stayed in Stockholm just down the road from a Svenskt Tenn shop filled with Josef Frank patterns that I fell in love with. I did not fall in love with the prices though! Thanks so much for finding this super lookalike :o)

This is an excellent blog because it has good volume of information, everything is described in the simplest manner and all information on this blog is genuine and real..
200 price tag is way too expensive for this kind of property and good that you didn't agree to buy it straight away.
