Look alike: Josef Frank Fabrics

Last week I got many emails asking for more information on this fabric:

caneribbononcurtain

That little peek of fabric got many people’s attention so I figured it was worth sharing with all where it is from.

I love Josef Frank Fabrics, but I do not love the $200+ price tag per yard.

Frank was born in Austria and later on moved to Sweden where he designed over 200 patterns between 1909-1950. Only 34 patterns are currently in product. His fabrics are a wonderful mix of color and blooms and just exude happiness to me!

Here are some of his ionic looks:

In this room his fabric is used not only on the window treatments, but on the sofa and club chair in the room as well.

joseffrankroom

One of my favorite rooms from Domino. Love the dark tulip table, the chesterfield sofa and the Josef Frank print on the window treatments.

My favorite pattern has to be this little number:

With this pattern coming in at a very close second favorite:

So when I found this:

wonderlandpearl

I knew it would be making it’s way to my home and going in my office!

It is also available in a red colorway:

wonderlandruby

Along with a black colorway:

wonderlandjet

At only $22 a yard it is quite the bargain compared to the real deal.

Little designer secret of mine before ordering any fabric online try calling/emailing Orien Textile and see if they carry it first. It sometimes takes a bunch of tries to get a response, but I was able to get my fabric for $16 a yard!

Um, it's perfect. I just hopped over from Little Green Notebook. I've been searching for the perfect floral fabric for my nursery, and I'm pretty sure this is it! Now I can't decide on pearl or ruby...Oh and the best part is, I followed the link to this company, and they're located 12 minutes from my house. I need to go check this place out!

Thanks for sharing your source! I loved the Serafina fabric Pottery Barn carried a while back and was so sad to see it isn't carried any more. These remind me very much of that.

Oh, I love it! It reminds me, to my untrained eye, a little bit of the Liberty prints (now popularized by Target). Gorgeous!

Josef Frank is a design hero here in Sweden. But as much as we love him, we can't take total credit. He was actually born in Austria and moved to Sweden when the Nazis became a threat (he was Jewish). Good for trivia :-)

200 price tag is way too expensive for this kind of property and good that you didn't agree to buy it straight away.
