Pretty Kiss

"From the girl that forgot to say yes to the guy that forgot to get down on his knee."

-Quote from my sister's speech at my wedding

Today I celebrated my 3rd wedding anniversary. I can't believe it's been 3 years already. It went by so quickly. I still have vivid memories of that day. I was a nervous mess. Not about getting married, but about having all the attention on me. It was completely frightening, but once the dress was on and with flowers in hand all was calm as I made my way to the church.

The entire limo ride to the church I was coaching everyone to be strong and not get too emotional and cry. What does a bride do as she is in the wings of the church waiting to make her trip down the aisle? Cry of course. Prepped by my limo man who apparently was also the one making sure I went down the aisle at the right moment I was told to, "let them wait for it" as we waiting a little bit before opening the doors. Down the aisle I went. Not nearly as terrifying as a thought. After all I was surrounded by family and friends.

We got married by the same Priest that married my in-laws and had a lovely and thoughtful ceremony. All was well and we were practically done with the church part of the day. Of course this bride is always one to make a memorable exit and slipped on her way off the alter. Lucky for me I had my husband to catch my fall.

While I have hundreds of pictures from my wedding I knew the exact one that I wanted to put in this post. This shot wasn't taken by a photographer at my wedding, but by a close family friend that ran out in between the ceremony and reception to get some shots printed out for us to have on our honeymoon. I didn't even realize what I named it till today, but here is Pretty Kiss:

Look at those cheekbones!

This year we decide to be very low-key on our anniversary. No big presents exchanged. We are looking to plan a trip instead and get some fun in the sun, but that's not happening right away. So I was pleasantly surprised when I got a gorgeous arrangement of flowers from my husband today at work. He even got flowers that matched our centerpieces.

What a guy! I think I'll keep him for a while.

So even though I forgot to say yes to the proposal ( I was in shock and totally staring at my pretty ring) and Jon was so nervous he never did end up on his knee I'm happy to report that we've been living happily ever after.

Happy Anniversary! Such a great story!
BTW-Could we have had the same limo driver? Mine stood in the back of the church with me for a while and started off with, "Ok, are you staying, or are we making a run for Vegas today?" When I laughed and said we were staying, he then said, "Ok, then we're gonna make you a star!" and started giving me instructions. He was awesome. We actually made him come to the reception later on when we found out there were a few people who could not make it.

Happy Anniversary! I love that your husband replicated your wedding flowers, so very sweet.

Your wedding looked gorgeous! The priest that married us also married my in-laws. Then he went on to baptize my boys too. I love those kind of family things, they make awesome memories.

Hi Ladies,

Thanks for all the super sweet comments.

Now on to the questions:

Lindsay,
Yup we decided to paint the fireplace white. That is just with two coats of prime on it we still need to paint a normal coat of white on it. Project for this weekend.

Robin,
How cool would I be with plum colored walls, but alas they are not. It is a chocolate brown and yes that's my living room.

Kelly,
So happy to see you started a blog. Yay! Limo drivers are funny. I had no idea he would be doing that sort of stuff, but he really calmed me down before I walked out.

Lauren,

Yay glad you like the coffee table. It was actual a sofa height table that was painted red when I saw it at a garage sale. It was filled with jewelry they were trying to sell. So I offered 15 bucks for the piece. Jon cut down the legs and painted and it white and voila I had a new coffee table.
